Secrets for Preventing Violence

Violence is a major concern since the rash of tragic murders in our schools. The media has been bombarded by various pundits offering soliloquies, many time sanctimonious, on the evils of this society.

The tendency is to fix the blame. Violence in the media, uncontrolled gun proliferation, unconcerned parents, police indifference are cited  as some of the causes. Passing the buck is making bucks for those pointing out the "woes of this terrible society." As President Harry Truman said "The buck stops here!"

Whether we like it or not the global village is here to stay. The NRA has too much money and power for any real gun control to take place. Attacking parental negligence is like the minister berating his congregation about all the people who do not attend church. Most parents, educators and people involved in law enforcement care very much. Those who are unconcerned will not all of a sudden have qualms of conscience and become accountable. With billions of dollars on the line the media and video providers will, if we are lucky, make some cosmetic changes. Even those who present conflict resolution strategies are many times more theoretical than practical.

Relater part of me!
If the Relater Part of Self is developed in a negative way, neglecting the development of other Parts of Self the results may be: maniacal, cutting remarks, gossiping so as to destroy others. They will do anything to please from carrying a gun to giving sexual satisfaction in order to belong.

Adventurer part of me!
If the Adventurer Part of Self is developed in a negative way, neglecting the development of other Parts of Self the results may be: a psychopath, testing the limits, slaughter of others for the thrill.
