An effective Communication corrections
These are the parts which often interact and
cause negative communication with staff, students or within
the boardroom.
With
knowledge of present behaviors one may
choose to reinforce existing behaviors or
develop new ones according to ones
personal goals. NOTE the word PRESENT!
An
illustration: if I were to assess my
PRESENT English vocabulary and then
pigeonhole or type cast myself by saying
"this is the limit. I shall always
have just this knowledge of English
words." That would be ridiculous. I
may learn many new words and expand my
vocabulary for the rest of my life. So,
too, I may expand my communication power
and develop many new behavioral
communication strengths. These may be
focused on thinking or deciding or feeling
or taking action.
WARNING:
Because of past experience, you may have
an emotional attachment to various
personality inventories that have a
tendency— if not totally—to
pigeonhole a person as a certain type.
This blocks
a person's capacity to become a Person
for All Seasons!
This is especially dangerous when training
and relating with new staff, employees or students who are
particularly open to developing new, success oriented, and
positive behaviors. Many educational institutes are
communication graveyards.
